Can You Dig It?? First Annual CGSA Beach Volleyball Extravaganza!

The UConn CGSA is proud to announce the first annual
Beach Volleyball Extravaganza!!!

WHEN: Friday, September 26th @ 4pm
WHERE: South Campus volleyball courts
WHAT: Volleyball tournament and fundraiser for CGSA
WHO: This event is open to Communication Department faculty, staff, graduate students, friends, and family!

Prizes awarded to the tournament champion!


Entry Rules:
- Teams can be 4-5 players
- At least half of the team should be comprised of Communication Department faculty, staff, graduate students, etc.
- At least two players on the team must be female.

Bracket: Soccer World Cup-style brackets. (Brackets will be determined once all teams have registered.)

Entry fees: $3 per person
Entry fees should be submitted to Kim Embacher or Sara Picklesimer.  Individuals may pay for themselves, or teams may pay one grand total of $12 or $15, depending on the size of the team.  If a player does not pay his/her entry fee by the time of the tournament, that member may not participate.

Registration: Please email kimberly.embacher@uconn.edu with your team members and team name by Friday, September 26th at 2pm.  Warm-ups and check-ins will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the courts.  

Game rules:
1. Server cannot attack or block. (On the receiving side, the most recent server cannot attack or block).
2. The ball cannot be touched more than three times (block touches not counting as a touch) by a team, or more than once in a row by a single player. ADDITIONALLY, if the team touches the ball three times, at least one of those touches must be by a female on the team.
3. Subbing is permitted.
4. The ball may be pursued outside the boundaries of the court as long as it is put back into play and put over the net inbounds within three hits.
5. Teams will be required to rotate positions.

Scoring: Rally to 25
